Falcons to sign Zane Gonzalez, waive Parker Romo

The Atlanta Falcons are set to sign kicker Zane Gonzalez for their Week 10 game against the Indianapolis Colts in Berlin. This move comes after Gonzalez worked out for the team on Tuesday. The Falcons will waive current kicker Parker Romo in a corresponding roster change. The decision follows Romo's missed extra point in a recent game against the New England Patriots, which resulted in a 24-23 loss. Romo has been with the Falcons since replacing Younghoe Koo, who missed a critical field goal in Week 1. During his time with Atlanta, Romo made 11 of 14 field goals and 12 of 13 extra points. Gonzalez, who played for the Washington Commanders last season, successfully completed 5 of 7 field goals and all 19 extra points in regular season games, as well as 7 of 8 field goals and 8 of 8 extra points in the playoffs.
