Top college football coach is choosing between Florida and UCLA

There are currently 12 open head coaching positions in the FBS, with nine of these vacancies at Power 4 programs. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is considered a top target for premier programs such as Florida and LSU, though it is uncertain whether he intends to leave his current position.

Washington head coach Jedd Fisch has emerged as a potential candidate for several roles. He has expressed interest in the UCLA job but reportedly would prefer the Florida position if it becomes available. Fisch has ties to Florida, having graduated from the university and served as a graduate assistant under Steve Spurrier. His current team, the Washington Huskies, is ranked No. 24, holding a 6-2 record this season.

Fisch's coaching record includes a stint at Arizona, where he improved the team from a 1-11 record in 2021 to a 10-3 finish in 2023.
