Source: Steelers decline RB Harris' 2025 option

The Steelers have declined running back Najee Harris' fifth-year option for the 2025 season, making him a free agent after 2024. The team also declined quarterback Justin Fields' option. Harris may still sign a deal after this season. Harris and Fields join other Steelers whose options were declined. Harris led the NFL in touches over the last 3 seasons. The team is evaluating players in the new offense before long-term commitments. Harris, the first Steeler to rush for 1,000 yards in his first three seasons, had his role reduced in 2022 with the addition of Jaylen Warren. Despite playing fewer snaps in 2023, Harris had a successful season. The Steelers' run game improved, finishing 13th in the league last season.
