Washington Commanders reach $1.3 million lawsuit settlement with state of Virginia

The Washington Commanders have settled a $1.3 million lawsuit with Virginia over mishandled season-ticket deposits under previous ownership. The settlement includes returning $600,000 to nearly 500 affected fans. Similar suits with Maryland and the District of Columbia were previously settled. Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares highlighted the prior ownership's unlawful retention of security deposits. The current ownership, led by Josh Harris, cooperated with the investigation. Former owner Dan Snyder was involved in the situation. The Commanders expressed satisfaction with resolving issues from the past. The settlement also includes $600,000 in civil penalties and $100,000 for additional costs.
