Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey and More Among 49ers Team Award Recipients

The San Francisco 49ers have announced their team award recipients for 2023. The Len Eshmont Award, voted on by the players, went to the 49er who best exemplifies inspirational and courageous play. The Bill Walsh Award, voted on by the coaching staff, is given to the player who represents professional excellence. The Bobb McKittrick Award, voted on by the offensive line, goes to the offensive lineman who displays courage, intensity, and sacrifice. The Hazeltine Iron Man Award, voted on by the defensive coaches, is given to the most courageous and inspirational defensive player. The Thomas Herrion Memorial Award is given to a rookie or first-year player who represents the dream of Thomas Herrion. The Ed Block Courage Award is presented to a player who demonstrates sportsmanship and courage. The Perry/Yonamine Award is given to the player who promotes unity within the team and community. LB Curtis Robinson, former OL Ilm Manning, and Linda Lynch received Community Relations Service Awards. TE George Kittle won the 49ers NFL Salute to Service Award. The Walter Payton Man of the Year Award is given to the player committed to philanthropy and community involvement. The Garry Niver Award is presented by the San Francisco Chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America to a player for their cooperation with the media.
