The San Francisco 49ers have signed two free agent defensive linemen, Earnest Brown IV and Raymond Johnson III, to one-year deals. Brown IV, drafted in the fifth round by the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, started three games in three years and recorded five tackles in seven games in 2023. Johnson III, an undrafted free agent in 2021, spent his rookie year with the New York Giants and the 2022 season on the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad before being released. He then spent the 2023 season on the Detroit Lions practice squad. The 49ers have also signed several other free agents this week. Johnson and Brown were the first signees from outside the team's building.
