The Chicago Bears have released safety Eddie Jackson and offensive lineman Cody Whitehair, freeing up $21.71 million in salary cap space for the 2024 season. This puts the Bears in a good position with $67 million in available cap space, the third most in the league. Jackson had an impressive career with the Bears, recording 459 tackles, 15 interceptions, and six defensive touchdowns. Whitehair, a Pro Bowl player in 2018, spent eight seasons with the Bears. With Jackson's departure, the Bears will focus on finding a new safety through free agency or the NFL draft. They will also address the issue of the interior offensive line.
