Entering the 2023 season, the Buffalo Bills hadn't had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2017. However, they now have a stud running back in James Cook, who had an impressive season with 1,122 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. Cook's role expanded under new offensive coordinator Joe Brady, and he thrived as a receiver as well. The Bills also had contributions from RB2 Ty Johnson and veteran Latavius Murray. Despite his age, Murray was effective early in the season. However, the future of RB3 Devin Singletary is uncertain due to a neck injury, and RB4 Nyheim Hines missed the entire season due to a torn ACL and LCL. The Bills have a solid group of running backs but may make some changes in the offseason, potentially releasing Singletary and adding a veteran or rookie to the mix. Overall, the Bills are in a good position at the running back position with Cook leading the way.
