David Njoku: He’s more than just a dangerous receiving threat

David Njoku, the tight end for the Cleveland Browns, is known for his dangerous receiving skills. However, he has also shown excellence in pass-blocking, which is often an underrated attribute for tight ends. The Browns had several injuries on their offensive line in 2023, and Njoku played a vital role in assisting the offensive tackles by chipping, pulling, and man-blocking at the line of scrimmage. Head coach Kevin Stefanski effectively used Njoku in play-action to deceive the defense and provide better angles to attack edge players. Njoku's pass-blocking grade has been consistently high, with an average PFF grade of 73.4 since the 2020 season and a 93.5% success rate according to SIS advanced metrics. Njoku's ability to contribute as a blocker, along with his receiving skills, makes him one of the best in the game.
