The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to hire Kentucky Wildcats offensive coordinator, Liam Coen, as their new offensive coordinator. This move would potentially reunite Coen with quarterback Baker Mayfield, whom he worked with in 2022. Coen previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams before joining Kentucky. If the deal goes through, the Buccaneers would not only gain a coach familiar with Mayfield, but also someone who has worked with Rams coach Sean McVay, a prominent figure in the NFL. Mayfield has expressed the importance of knowing who will be calling the plays before deciding whether to stay in Tampa Bay.
