Chiefs pick up the option on DT Chris Jones’ contract

The Kansas City Chiefs have picked up the option on defensive tackle Chris Jones' contract, retaining the right to use the franchise tag on him. Jones, who had a standout season, earning first-team All-Pro honors, will still seek a significant pay raise this offseason. Negotiations with the Chiefs front office will determine if he stays in Kansas City.
