The Indianapolis Colts have announced the retirement of Director of Sports Performance Rusty Jones, a 34-year NFL veteran. Jones served in his role with the Colts for the last six seasons. Colts General Manager Chris Ballard praised Jones as one of the most respected experts in the industry and highlighted his impact on numerous athletes. Jones was previously honored with the 2016 NFL strength and conditioning Lifetime Achievement award and was named National Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 2007. Prior to his time with the Colts, Jones worked as a sports performance consultant and held positions with the Chicago Bears and Buffalo Bills. He holds a degree in physical education from Springfield College and a master's degree in exercise physiology.
