Colts’ Positional Outlooks: Quarterback

The Colts have their starting quarterback, AR, on a rookie contract for the next four seasons. The team is confident in his abilities and sees him as their franchise quarterback for the next decade. However, due to AR's injury concerns, it would be wise for the Colts to have a stable backup behind him. Gardner Minshew was the backup last season but is set to become a free agent and may seek a starting job elsewhere. If Minshew's market value is not high, he would be an ideal backup option for the Colts. Sam Ehlinger is currently the third option but has limited playing time and is mostly a depth player. Depending on Minshew's decision, the Colts may seek a veteran backup quarterback to keep the offense going if AR's injuries persist. Overall, the quarterback position is stable, with no major changes expected.
