Commanders name Lance Newmark assistant general manager

The Washington Commanders have named Lance Newmark as their assistant general manager. Newmark brings 28 years of NFL experience, including 26 seasons with the Detroit Lions. He most recently held the role of senior director of player personnel for the Lions and assisted with scouting operations. Newmark will report to General Manager Adam Peters. Peters expressed excitement about Newmark joining the team and praised his talent evaluation skills. Newmark is also eager to join the Commanders organization and believes in the vision of Adam Peters and Coach Quinn. He previously held various roles in the Lions organization and started his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers. Newmark played wide receiver in college and holds a degree in social sciences.
