Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back William Gay has joined the Washington Commanders coaching staff as the assistant defensive backs coach. Gay was previously set to join the Texas Longhorns coaching staff. Gay played for the Steelers for the majority of his NFL career, winning a Super Bowl in 2008 and reaching the Super Bowl again in 2010. He intercepted 13 passes and returned five for touchdowns during his career. Gay also served as the defensive backs coach at Missouri State in 2020.
