The Philadelphia Eagles have announced the expansion of their girls' flag football initiative, providing more opportunities for girls to participate in sports. The Eagles Girls Flag League, supported by Gatorade, The Bellwether District, and Planet Fitness, has grown from 16 schools to 92 teams across Philadelphia and South Jersey. The league will expand from 38 to 65 teams in Philadelphia and from 14 to 27 teams in South Jersey. In total, there will be 2,300 participants spread across six leagues. The Eagles will also be hosting various clinics and events for league participants. In August 2023, girls' flag football was designated as an emerging sport in Pennsylvania, taking a step towards becoming an officially sanctioned sport. The Eagles will distribute 30,000 FLY:FWD sports bras to girls in need in the Philadelphia area. This initiative aims to provide essential gear and empower girls to embrace their athleticism with confidence and comfort. The Eagles' partnership with Operation Warm includes the distribution of sports bras and a $100,000 equipment donation.
