Former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Fulton Kuykendall, a member of the infamous 1977 Gritz Blitz defense, has passed away at the age of 70. Kuykendall played for the Falcons from 1975 to 1984 and was known for his wild and intense playing style. He was a sixth-round draft pick in the same year that the Falcons selected quarterback Steve Bartkowski. Kuykendall's career was cut short in 1977 due to a broken arm sustained while tackling O.J. Simpson. He finished his NFL career with the San Francisco 49ers in 1985. The Falcons organization expressed their condolences to Kuykendall's family.
