The Atlanta Falcons have hired a new defensive coordinator, Jimmy Lake, for the upcoming 2024 season. Lake has announced that the team will be returning to a base 3-4 defensive scheme. This is good news for outside linebackers Arnold Ebiketie and DeAngelo Malone, who were both drafted under former coordinator Dean Pees. Ebiketie, in particular, has been named a potential breakout candidate for 2024 by Pro Football Focus. He showed improvement as a pass-rusher in the past two years and had a strong performance in 2023 with six sacks and a 16.6% pressure rate. With an increased role expected in 2024, Ebiketie could continue his success. The Falcons may also give him more playing time if they don't sign big-name pass-rushers in free agency. Overall, Ebiketie has a promising future in Atlanta.
