Former Falcons quarterback and current CBS analyst, Matt Ryan, expressed his support for the team's new head coach, Raheem Morris. Ryan believes that Morris, who he worked with during their time in Atlanta, will be able to maximize the potential of the Falcons roster. Despite his retirement from playing, Ryan has found enjoyment in his new role as a broadcaster. When asked for advice for rookies, Ryan emphasized the importance of savoring the experience and taking it all in. With the departure of former head coach Arthur Smith, Ryan sees shades of former coach Dan Quinn in Morris and is excited about his return. He believes that Morris understands the team and its talent and will find a way to bring out the best in them, while also addressing the quarterback position. Ryan acknowledges that he won't be returning to the team, but leaves open the possibility of a surprise.
