Former New York Giants player Tiki Barber is not a fan of the NFL's playoff overtime rules. The new rule, implemented last March, sets the overtime period at 15 minutes instead of 10. If the team that possesses the ball first does not score a touchdown, or if the score is tied after each team has had a possession, sudden death sets in. Barber believes these rules make the clock irrelevant and take away the urgency of the game. He argues that football is not just about competing against opponents, but also against the constraints of the field, officials, and the clock. However, it's important to remember that in the postseason, a winner must be produced. In the past, it was a true sudden-death affair, where the first team to score won the game. The only difference now is that both teams get a shot as the clock ticks in the background.
