The Washington Commanders have hired former New York Giants offensive line coach Bobby Johnson for the same position. Johnson, a 14-year NFL coaching veteran, was previously with the Giants from 2022 to 2023. During his time with the Giants, he coached left tackle Andrew Thomas to a second-team all-pro season in 2022. Before joining the Giants, Johnson worked as the offensive line coach for the Buffalo Bills from 2019 to 2021. He has also held coaching positions with the Indianapolis Colts, Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, and his first stint with the Bills. Johnson has 15 years of experience in the collegiate ranks as well. He will now be tasked with improving the Commanders' offensive line, which was ranked 20th overall by PFF and will likely be protecting a rookie quarterback in 2024. The Giants have hired Carmen Bricillo as their new offensive line coach for the 2024 season.
