Commanders hire Lions 26-year front office executive

The Washington Commanders have hired Lance Newmark, a 26-year front office executive with the Detroit Lions, as their new assistant general manager. Newmark had been with the Lions since 1998 and held various positions during his tenure. He even interviewed for the Lions' general manager job in 2021. Newmark will be reunited with former Lions GM Martin Mayhew in his new role. This is the second time this offseason that the Lions' front office has been sought after by another team.
