3 voided contracts add almost $10M in dead money to Packers 2024 salary cap

The Green Bay Packers will have nearly $10 million in dead money on their 2024 salary cap due to the voided contracts of Darnell Savage, Yosh Nijman, and Keisean Nixon. Void years were added to their contracts, causing the prorated money to accelerate onto the cap when the deals voided. The dead money bill for Savage is $5,456,800, Nijman is $2,543,200, and Nixon is $1,480,000. These three contracts represent the 10th biggest hit on the Packers' 2024 salary cap. Savage, Nijman, and Nixon will be unrestricted free agents, and if they sign elsewhere, the Packers will still count them on the cap. The Packers have over $15 million in dead money on their 2024 cap, with trading Rasul Douglas adding over $5 million. Dead money has become a significant factor in the Packers' salary cap situation in recent years.
