The Green Bay Packers are transitioning from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 defense under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley. In the 4-3 defense, there are two roles for defensive tackles: three-technique and nose tackle. The Packers have Devonte Wyatt, Karl Brooks, and Colby Wooden as three-techniques. The team is not looking for big, run-stopping defensive ends. Instead, they want smaller, pass-rushing players to get after the quarterback. Kenny Clark will likely play as a 4-3 nose tackle, with the ability to play some three-technique snaps. T.J. Slaton will primarily be a run defender, and Jonathan Ford serves as a reserve player.
