Hall of Fame Class of 2024 offers clues for future Panthers candidates

The Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024 offers hope for future Carolina Panthers candidates. Julius Peppers was named to the Hall in his first year on the ballot. The composition of the rest of the Class of 2024 is good news for Luke Kuechly and Steve Smith Sr. Kuechly and Patrick Willis have similar resumes, with Kuechly having the edge of winning the NFL defensive player of the year award. Johnson's induction clears a roadblock for Smith to be discussed in future selections. Cam Newton, although retired, will be eligible for the Hall in 2027. His MVP award and unique career achievements make him a strong candidate. The selection committee has recently inducted players with shorter careers as long as they were brilliant.
