Patriots' 2024 Super Bowl odds shouldn't surprise anyone

The New England Patriots have the second-worst Super Bowl odds for 2024, with only the Carolina Panthers having worse odds. This is not surprising considering the Patriots' poor performance last season, finishing with a 4-13 record and missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year. The team is undergoing a rebuild after parting ways with coach Bill Belichick and will be led by first-time head coach Jerod Mayo. The Patriots have money to spend in free agency and the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, but they have several weaknesses in their roster. The bigger concern is how they will compete in their own division and make the playoffs. The quarterback position, lack of offensive playmakers, and pass-protectors are all areas of concern. Fixing the problems in New England will take time and could take years to get back on track.
