The New England Patriots are not expected to reach a new deal with offensive tackle Trent Brown before his contract expires. Brown will become a free agent, and the Patriots will carry a $2 million dead cap hit from his contract into the 2024 season. Brown has had off-the-field issues and has been critical of the Patriots' organization. Not having Brown in the lineup would pose a challenge for the team, as right tackle Mike Onwenu is also a free agent. The Patriots will need to make personnel decisions and Brown's contract could be the start of changes for the team.
