Don’t expect Rams to use the franchise tag this offseason

The Los Angeles Rams are unlikely to use the franchise tag this offseason to retain any players. The franchise tag window opens this week, but the Rams' general manager and VP are expected to be patient and not rush into using the tag. While they need to retain players like Kevin Dotson, it doesn't make financial sense to use the tag on him as it would cost the team $21.7 million. Dotson's market value is already higher than what the Rams are willing to pay, so it's best for them to wait and let him hit free agency to determine his true market value. The Rams could also save money by designating Joe Noteboom as a post-June 1 release. Overall, it is likely that the Rams will wait for the free agency period to open rather than using the franchise tag.
