Finding a veteran OLB will prove easier said than done for Rams

The Los Angeles Rams have been in need of a star outside linebacker for several years. They temporarily filled the position with Leonard Floyd and Von Miller, but Miller left in free agency. Justin Hollins and Terrell Lewis did not perform well, and the Rams attempted to trade for Brian Burns of the Carolina Panthers. However, Burns is now a free agent. The Rams have struggled to find a veteran outside linebacker due to other teams keeping their best players and risky contracts in free agency. The available options in free agency include Danielle Hunter, Bryce Huff, Chase Young, Jadeveon Clowney, ZaDarius Smith, and Josh Uche. Trading for a premier edge rusher would require a significant salary cap investment and draft capital. Possible trade targets could include Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders, Khalil Mack or Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers, or Haason Reddick of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams face challenges in finding a veteran outside linebacker for the 2024 season.
