The Los Angeles Rams are honoring the legacy of Kenny Washington, the first Black player to be signed by an NFL team in the modern era. They hosted a 'Threaded Through History' exhibit at SoFi Stadium, unveiling an authentic Kenny Washington jersey from 1946-48. The exhibit, in partnership with The Kinsey Collection, showcased African American art and historical artifacts. The Rams also released a limited number of jerseys for sale, with proceeds benefiting retired NFL players' health and wellness. The team has been celebrating Washington's impact through various initiatives, including a scholarship program and supporting youth football in his alma mater's stadium. They will continue their Black History Month celebrations with a coaches symposium, heart health screening, food distribution event, and recognition of community heroes.
