NFL free agency: Looking at the Ravens history with the franchise tag

As teams around the NFL prepare for the upcoming offseason, the franchise tag window is set to open on Tuesday and close on March 5. Any unrestricted free agent not tagged during this period will be able to sign with any team when free agency opens on March 13. The Baltimore Ravens have a history of using the franchise tag and getting deals done later. Lamar Jackson, the Ravens' quarterback, was the eighth player and first quarterback to be tagged by the team. He eventually signed a five-year extension worth $260 million. Other notable Ravens players who were tagged include defensive tackle Haloti Ngata, linebacker Terrell Suggs, and cornerback Chris McAlister.
