Ryan Grubb, the new offensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, initially planned to move to Alabama to be the OC for the Crimson Tide. However, he was offered an opportunity to stay in Seattle and fulfill his desire to coach in the NFL. Grubb, along with new defensive coordinator Aden Durde and special teams coordinator Jay Harbaugh, had their first introductions. The Seahawks will have several first-time coordinators next season. Grubb's system at Washington, which led to 14 wins and a national championship game appearance, is yet to be tested in the NFL. The quarterback situation remains uncertain, but Geno Smith is likely to stay for now. Grubb's main priority is getting to know Smith and last year's backup Drew Lock. Durde had no previous relationship with head coach Mike Macdonald, while Harbaugh chose to work with Macdonald over following his father, Jim Harbaugh, to Los Angeles.
