Wednesday Round-Up: Boye Mafe Recognized as NFL Africa Changemaker For Breakout 2023 Season

Seattle Seahawks outside linebacker Boye Mafe has been recognized as an NFL Africa Changemaker for his breakout 2023 season. Mafe, whose parents are from Nigeria, tripled his rookie sack total with 9.0 sacks in his second NFL season. The NFL's International Pathway Program has played a role in expanding the game to Africa, where soccer is the dominant sport. Mafe's seven-week stretch of recording a sack set a new Seahawks franchise record. Additionally, the Seahawks have announced the hiring of new coaches, and there are renovations underway at the team's stadium, including the addition of a new premium area called The 1976 Club.
