Patrick Peterson hints that his time with the Steelers may be over

Patrick Peterson, cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, hinted that his time with the team may be over. The Steelers recently made roster cuts, releasing quarterback Mitch Trubisky, offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor, and punter Pressley Harvin. More cuts are expected, potentially including Peterson. Peterson stated on his podcast that he wants to continue playing, but it is up to the Steelers if they want to keep him. The Steelers signed Peterson to a two-year deal in 2023 and cutting him before his roster bonus in March would save the team money. The Steelers need to find another starting-caliber cornerback to pair with Joey Porter Jr., as neither Peterson nor Levi Wallace performed well enough in that role. If Peterson stays, he would likely have a rotational role as a slot/safety player.
