Houston Texans DE Will Anderson Jr. has been named the Associated Press NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He is the third player in franchise history to receive this honor. Anderson had an impressive rookie season, starting in 13 games and setting a franchise record for most sacks by a rookie with 7.0. He also led all rookies in pressures with 67. Anderson was selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He was also named to the Pro Bowl, becoming just the second defensive rookie in Texans history to receive this recognition. The Texans sweep the top rookie awards, with QB C.J. Stroud being named the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. This makes the Texans the fourth team since 1967 to win both Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year in the same season.
