Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, will be participating in the NBA All-Star Celebrity game alongside Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons. Stroud, who played basketball in high school, recalled a game in which he scored 28 points against now-Miami Heat rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr., although he initially claimed to have scored 40 points. Stroud's high school basketball coach confirmed his impressive performance and expressed that Stroud could have pursued a career in basketball. Instead, Stroud chose to play football at Ohio State and was drafted by the Texans. He will have the opportunity to showcase his basketball talent during the NBA All-Star weekend.
