Titans offseason preview at CB: Pending free agents, biggest needs

The Tennessee Titans had a tough year in coverage in 2023, particularly at cornerback. While slot cornerback Roger McCreary performed well, the rest of the cornerbacks struggled. Kristian Fulton had poor coverage and penalties, while Sean Murphy-Bunting was better but still had issues. Tre Avery was exposed when given extended playing time, but UDFA Eric Garror showed promise in coverage. The Titans have McCreary locked in as a starter for 2024, but the rest of the cornerback group is uncertain. Fulton is unlikely to return, while Murphy-Bunting could be re-signed as a bridge CB2. The Titans' biggest needs are two starting perimeter cornerbacks. They could bring back Murphy-Bunting or explore free agency options like Jaylon Johnson or Chidobe Awuzie. They could also address the position in the NFL draft, depending on free agency moves. The Titans have the funds to make a big addition and bring back Murphy-Bunting to solidify their needs.
