Bengals grant AJ McCarron release for QB's Battlehawks return

The Cincinnati Bengals have granted quarterback AJ McCarron his release. McCarron plans to return to the UFL and re-sign with the St. Louis Battlehawks, the team he won MVP with last season. McCarron joined the Bengals last September and was promoted to the active roster in December. He served as insurance after Joe Burrow's injury but never got a chance to play due to the emergence of Jake Browning. Currently, the Bengals have two quarterbacks on their roster.
