Bengals 2023 Position Review: Tight Ends

The Cincinnati Bengals' decision to delay addressing their tight end position came back to haunt them in 2023. The veteran they signed on a one-year deal, Irv Smith, failed to prove himself, while journeyman Tanner Hudson emerged as a solid player. Drew Sample also contributed as a blocker and receiver. However, the position did not make a significant impact. With Hudson and Sample potentially hitting free agency, the Bengals need to take action this offseason. They have several options in free agency, including Noah Fant and Gerald Everett. Dalton Schultz and Mike Gesicki are also appealing but may be costly. Austin Hooper and Hunter Henry are available but are nearing 30. The ideal scenario would be to draft Georges Brock Bowers, but he is likely to be drafted early. Other options to consider are Cade Stover and Jaheim Bell. Both could make a difference in the passing game.
