The Chargers "can't afford to lose" free agent tight end Gerald Everett, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF) analyst Brad Spielberger. Spielberger highlights Everett's chemistry with quarterback Justin Herbert, as well as his ability to force missed tackles and make clutch plays in high-pressure situations. While Everett lacks blocking skills, new offensive coordinator Greg Roman favors tight ends in his scheme. If the Chargers choose not to re-sign Everett, they could potentially address the position in the draft.
