Report: Chargers to hire NaVorro Bowman as linebackers coach

The Los Angeles Chargers are reportedly set to hire former All-Pro linebacker NaVorro Bowman as their linebackers coach, reuniting him with head coach Jim Harbaugh. Bowman was an All-Pro linebacker during his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers under Harbaugh. Although he lacks formal coaching experience, Bowman has spent the last three seasons as a defensive analyst for Maryland football. This move would be an inspired hire for the Chargers, as their linebacker group is in need of retooling. It is unlikely that current linebackers Kenneth Murray and Eric Kendricks will return next season. Bowman's return to the NFL could have a significant impact, especially under the guidance of his former coach.
