Former Vikings WR punches ticket to Hollywood on American Idol

Former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, Blake Proehl, has impressed the judges on American Idol with his audition and will be advancing to the next round in Hollywood. Proehl, who was on the Vikings practice squad in 2021 and 2022, signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in 2021. Despite suffering a knee injury and being placed on injured reserve, he was activated in 2022 and later waived, eventually joining the practice squad. Proehl participated in the Vikings' Training Camp in 2023 but was ultimately released. While the competition structure of American Idol is unfamiliar, advancing to the Hollywood round is a significant achievement. Congratulations to Proehl, and we will be following his progress in the competition.
