The Minnesota Vikings have hired Marcus Dixon as their defensive line coach and added the title of outside linebacker coach to Mike Pettine, the team's assistant head coach. Dixon previously served as the Denver Broncos' defensive line coach and brings six years of coaching experience to the Vikings. During his time with the Broncos, Dixon's defensive line helped the team achieve a league-leading 15 fumble recoveries and limited opponents to a 33.2-percent conversion rate on third downs. Pettine, who has been with the Vikings for the past two seasons, will now also coach the outside linebackers. He has over 30 years of coaching experience and played a role in the Vikings' defensive improvement in the 2023 season, with the team ranking 16th overall and posting top-eight rankings in rushing yards per play and rushing yards per game.
