32-touchdown QB announces commitment to unexpected college football program

In a notable recruiting update, Ben Musser, a three-star quarterback from the 2027 class, has committed to Appalachian State. Musser, who previously committed to Virginia Tech before retracting his decision following the dismissal of head coach Brent Pry, selected the Mountaineers over nearly 20 other offers, including those from Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Nebraska, Purdue, and Cincinnati. Musser, who attends Prince Avenue Christian School in Georgia, completed his junior season with impressive statistics, throwing for 2,042 yards and 25 touchdowns, while also rushing for seven scores. He is currently ranked as the No. 29 quarterback and No. 49 recruit in Georgia for the 2027 class according to 247Sports. This commitment marks Musser as the first top-35 ranked quarterback in his class to choose a Group of Six (G6) program.
