Alabama Heisman winner chosen for College Football Hall of Fame

Former Alabama running back Mark Ingram has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026. The announcement was made by the National Football Foundation. Ingram is joined by former Georgia running back Garrison Hearst as the SEC representatives among the 18 players honored. Ingram, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2009 and led Alabama to a BCS national championship, is the 23rd Alabama player enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

Other notable inductees include former Oklahoma linebacker George Cumby, New Hampshire running back Jerry Azumah, and Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald. The Hall of Fame class also features coaches such as Gary Patterson from TCU and Chris Petersen from Boise State and Washington.

The Class of 2026 induction ceremony will take place at the 68th annual National Football Foundation awards dinner on December 8, 2026, in Las Vegas. This recognition elevates the SEC's presence in the Hall of Fame
