Allstate Wuerffel Trophy announces 2025 finalists for college football's top community service award

The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy has announced its 2025 finalists, highlighting three NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision players known for their leadership and community service efforts. The finalists are Matt Hofer from the University of Toledo, Michael Taaffe from the University of Texas, and Tanner Wall from Brigham Young University.

Matt Hofer, an offensive lineman at Toledo, contributed over 180 hours to community service, including volunteering at the Cherry Street Mission in Toledo and participating in mission trips to Kenya and the Philippines. Michael Taaffe, a defensive back at Texas, advocates for Texas Against Fentanyl and raised significant funds for the Texas Flood Relief Foundation. Tanner Wall, a safety at BYU, mentors students globally through the BYU Pathway Program and coordinates community service activities with Utah Valley Hospital.
