Baker Mayfield listed as DNP on Wednesday, says, "I have to be smart"

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers held a walk-through on Wednesday, listing quarterback Baker Mayfield as a non-participant due to a sprained left shoulder. Mayfield sustained the injury during Sunday's loss to the Rams and is considering the balance between playing and preserving his health for future games. Mayfield, who had a similar left shoulder issue in 2021 with the Browns, will be monitored ahead of the game against Arizona. If Mayfield is unable to play, backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is expected to start. Head coach Todd Bowles stated that a decision will be made in the coming days. Additionally, outside linebacker Anthony Nelson was also a non-participant due to rib injuries. Several other players, including guard Ben Bredeson and receiver Chris Godwin, were limited in practice, while running back Bucky Irving and others were full participants.
