Bears promoting passing game coordinator Press Taylor to offensive coordinator

The Chicago Bears have promoted Press Taylor to the role of offensive coordinator, according to NFL Network Insiders. Taylor previously served as the team's passing game coordinator and will replace Declan Doyle, who has departed to become the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens. Taylor, who began his NFL coaching career with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013, has held various offensive coaching roles, including a stint as the offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars where he initially found success but later struggled with the team's offensive performance.

In his new role with the Bears, Taylor will not handle play-calling duties, which remain with Ben Johnson. Instead, Taylor will focus on assisting Johnson with game planning. The Bears' offense, featuring key players such as quarterback Caleb Williams, running backs D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, and receivers DJ Moore and Rome Odunze, will look to build on their recent success, including a run to the NFC Divisional Round.
