Colorado State quarterback and offensive lineman suspended for regular season finale after spitting on Boise State players

Colorado State University has suspended quarterback Darius Curry and offensive lineman Liam Wortmann for the Rams’ final game of the season. The suspension follows an incident where both players reportedly spit on Boise State players during Colorado State's Week 13 loss to the Broncos. Interim CSU coach Tyson Summers issued an apology to the Boise State team and its coach, Spencer Danielson, after reviewing the game footage. Athletic director John Weber also expressed regret for the incident, emphasizing that the players' actions did not align with the program's standards of sportsmanship.

The Mountain West Conference supported CSU's decision, highlighting the importance of respect and sportsmanship in college athletics. Darius Curry publicly apologized on social media, expressing remorse for his behavior. During the game, Curry completed 26 of 46 passes for 293 yards, with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Wortmann, in his first year at CSU after transferring from Division II Central Missouri, will miss the upcoming game against Air Force as a result of the suspension.
