Colts claim LB Chad Muma off waivers, waive DT Tim Smith

The Indianapolis Colts have claimed linebacker Chad Muma off waivers, while waiving defensive tackle Tim Smith. Muma, who was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday, was originally a third-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. During his time with the Jaguars, Muma participated in all but one game, starting seven, and recorded 94 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and three passes defensed. The Colts' decision to acquire Muma comes after coaching and front office changes in Jacksonville left him without connections to the current staff. Tim Smith, drafted by the Colts in the sixth round earlier this year, played 64 games for Alabama, tallying 124 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
